  • Arts from the Land of Magtymguly

    Released in conjunction with the exhibit of the same name and the 2013 Turkmenistan Culture Days in Washington, D.C., this co-authored volume follows the thread of the dreams of Turkmen poet Magtymguly through the countries music, craft, and art traditions. The volume features full-color illustrations of objects loaned from Turkmenistan’s Main National Museum and Fine Arts Museum. Essays on bagshy and poetic traditions, textiles, jewelry, and fine art written by researchers in the Asian Cultural History Program of the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution.
